Scholarship Contest 2008

Casal Aveda Institute will be awarding one full scholarship in Cosmetology, one full scholarship in Esthiology, and one full scholarship in Manicuring on October 5, 2008.

How to apply:

The following online application form, with all questions and essay portions completed, must be submitted no later than Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.. If you are unable to complete the online application, application packets may also be submitted via postal mail or by hand delivery to:

Please note that all mailed entries and hand deliveries must also be received no later than Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

Once all of the applications have been received, you will be contacted by email or a phone call by Saturday, September 27, 2008 to determine whether or not you are eligible to compete in the contest held on Sunday, October 5, 2008.

Once you have been chosen to compete as a contestant, you are then responsible to bring yourself, your model, and any supplies that you will need to the Casal Aveda Institute on October 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. to begin the contest for scholarship competition.

Please review the contest rules and eligibility requirements carefully to ensure all contestant application requirements have been met in order to be eligible to win a scholarship.

Finalists will be selected based on submitted essay & question responses.

Essay

	In at least 500 words or more typed, describe how you feel the salon industry, as a whole, will benefit by your involvement in becoming a Cosmetologist, esthiologist, or manicurist? If selected, why would you be the best candidate to have the scholarship? Include as much personal experience as you can and explain what drives and motivates you and what you are passionate about. Please be as specific as you can. Finalist will be selected by their applications and essay entries.

	In order to be eligible to accept the scholarship if you are chosen as the winner, you must meet the admission requirements of the institute. It is not a requirement that you have to be enrolled to compete. If awarded the scholarship you are able to register any time that day. Those awarded these scholarships must be able to attend classes in the Spring or Summer of 2009 enrollment dates.
