Susan Musolino - 2006 Casal Aveda Graduate, Haircutting Purefessional, Master Stylist, and Corporate Educator
With 13 years under her belt at Casal's De Spa & Salon and almost three years as an Aveda Purefessional, Susan Musolino praises the value of quality education and dedication to learning.
We caught up with Susan to learn more about her success and passion as an educator.
Why do you love what you do?
I love working behind the chair to make people feel good and build client relationships that are lifelong. My true passion is teaching because I love being a role model to our young generation and it fulfills me to make a difference in their lives. Their confidence in me makes me strive to become better each day.
How did your Aveda education impact where you are now?
I love Aveda's mission, and their education is the best in my opinion. I've had the opportunity to work with almost all of the global educators, and education like this is priceless. I can go anywhere in the United States, or the world for that matter, and pick up where I left off. THAT’S POWERFUL!!
What mentors helped you along the way?
I definitely owe my success to Thom Ciarniello, Bill McCauley, Holly Brown, and Ed and Nancy Brown. Thom & Bill gave me many opportunities to grow when I graduated, and their generosity continues to this day. When the Browns purchased our school in 2012, they continued to support and encourage me to strive for success. I owe it to them for becoming an Aveda Cutting Purefessional, and I am forever grateful to all of them!
Do you have any advice for aspiring artists?
My advice for upcoming artists is be humble and kind. Always realize that there is room to grow and learn. Share your talents with others, keep working towards your goals, and once you do that, make a new set and reach those too.
